The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) is exerting unremitting efforts to build a Digital Egypt and foster an Egyptian society that operates digitally across all aspects of life.
To achieve this, MCIT is promoting the development of ICT infrastructure and enhancing digital services within government agencies. These efforts aim to raise service quality and efficiency, improve the work environment, support decision-making, and address key societal issues.
There is a clear strategic movement toward creating an interconnected digital government by integrating state systems. This shift streamlines operations within the administrative apparatus, reinforces values of transparency and accountability, and ultimately elevates the quality of life for Al-Masry through accessible electronic services.
Building Digital Egypt
Within the framework of “Digital Egypt,” the state has launched several projects to deliver government services through diverse channels, including the Digital Egypt Platform, dedicated hotlines, and mobile applications to ensure services are fast and accessible.
One of the primary objectives of the Digital Egypt project is to prepare Al-Masry for the era of digital transformation. A digital society cannot thrive without skilled human resources capable of navigating modern tools. Consequently, the state prioritizes training and awareness programs across various community segments to help eradicate digital illiteracy.
Integration of Modern Technologies & Artificial Intelligence
The state is actively integrating advanced global technologies, particularly Artificial Intelligence (AI), into digital systems to support decision-making as part of implementing the National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence.
The AI Strategy aims to build:
- Capabilities & Skills
- Advanced Technology & Ecosystems
- Robust Infrastructure
- Governance Mechanisms
To oversee this vision, Egypt established the National Council for Artificial Intelligence (NCAI), led by MCIT. Artificial intelligence—especially data-driven methods like machine learning—is bringing radical change to global economic and social systems, empowering decision-makers to predict trends and optimize outcomes.
Dedicated Artificial Intelligence Platform
Egypt launched an official National AI Platform to serve as the country’s primary portal for AI developments. This hub features:
- The comprehensive National AI Strategy.
- Updates, news, and project details in the AI field.
- Capacity-building and training programs offered by various entities.
- Highlights of national achievements in technology.
- A collaborative space for government entities, the private sector, academia, and startups to exchange insights on AI opportunities, principles, and ethical usage.
